In 1923 King Zog I of Albania was shot twice in the chest. Instead of going to the hospital, he gave a speech, later fighting off assassins that killed his bodyguard. In total, Zog survived 55 assassination attempts and 600 blood feuds before being deposed by fascist Italy in 1939
